Koitabi – 01-02
(This was sitting in QC for a while, but I don’t remember why. Guess I’ll find out!)
New little project we’ll be embarking on. Total of 6 episodes, roughly 7min each.
Each independent story consists of two episodes, this first arc being “Youji and Chiaki”.
This show originally aired on TV in Toyama Prefecture, and streamed via a special phone application. Since it appears nobody capped the TV airing, we had to turn to the phone stream. After using some Japanese proxies (on a phone), changing some location settings, and fumbling through some menus, I was able to download the 720p streams directly from the phone application’s video server. The audio and video are a bit bitrate starved, but there’s not much action, so it’s still quite watchable.
For now, I only plan on releasing 720p 8bit, since the files were encoded with low-end devices in mind.
I’ll do 480p if there’s a demand.
If someone happens to come across a transport stream (or even a pre-encoded raw) from the TV airing, please let me know!
Episodes 3-4 will be released together later.

By the way: aniDB says that the episodes you subbed are episodes 5 and 6. This is a mistake on aniDB’s site, I assume?

Yeah, it’s a mistake on their end. Originally, they had the episodes in the correct order, but it appears that someone on the site decided to mess up the order.
When I ripped these episodes from the application’s video server, these two episodes were named koitabi_01.mp4 and koitabi_02.mp4.
Furthermore, there are 3 EDs (one for each story). Episode 1+2’s ED is Track 1 on the OST, Episode 3+4’s ED is Track 6, and Episode 5+6’s ED is Track 12.
Even furthermore, all the promotional artwork for the show (even the image on AniDB’s page) has the episodes in the correct order (from left to right).
Hopefully someone can correct AniDB’s mistake.
