Hipira-kun originally aired on the SD-only channel NHK-BS2 back in December 2009 as a Christmas special. Roughly 2 episodes aired per day over the span of a week, for a total of 10 episodes. Episodes 11 and 12 were later released on select mobile phone streaming platforms, but no raws ever surfaced.
Flash forward to the present. Hipira-kun 1-10 was re-aired on the HD channel NHK-E this past December, and is also airing weekly. NHK-E plans on airing the phone-only episodes 11 and 12 in March.
Since the 3D BD and DVD releases only contained “select” episodes, we’ll be doing this HDTV re-airing of 1-10, as well as 11 and 12 when they air in March! Due to the amount of detail, the file sizes for the 720p Hi10P will be pretty large.
I’ll be using Sakitty’s subs (with a bit of editing), since they sent me their subs for this series (and more!) a while back.
